The Towns of Dunkirk, Albion, Porter, and Fulton have been notified that EDP Renewables plans to build and operate a 950-acre solar field project (170 MW) in the four-corners area of Dunkirk-Albion-Porter-Fulton, Wisconsin.


EDP describes the Project Details as follows:

  • Capacity: 170 MW (Phase I: 98.6 MW & Phase II: 71.5 MW)
  • Point of Interconnection: 345kV Wempletown to Rockdale Transmission Line
  • Location: Dane County (Towns of Albion and Dunkirk) & Rock County (Towns of Fulton and Porter)
  • Project Completion: Targeting a 2029 Commercial Operation Date
  •  Production: Estimated to be 360,000 MWh annually


The Four Towns have developed a “4Town Joint Solar Project Committee” consisting of two representatives from each Town to meet every two weeks to gather information pertaining to this proposed installation. The public is welcome to attend the committee meetings and will be invited to make public comment in the last portion of the meeting.
